The Great American Journey For Hemophilia - 1981

McArthur Stadium

Syracuse, NY

May 22, 1981

In early May Lebeau and Carm went to McArthur Stadium and talked to Promotion Director of the Syracuse, Chiefs, John Simone, about our journey. He said he liked the idea and would get back to us.

In the meantime we were selling dozen of raffle tickets to the Hall of Fame Game in Cooperstown for $5 each. Marc came up from Wantagh for a day and show us the press releases The Hemophilia Foundation has printed up for us.

We got word from Chiefs General Manager, Tex Simone, that we can drive the van on the field prior to the Chiefs Columbus Clippers game to promote our trip The local paper, The Herald Journal, will be there to take pictures. Among those in attendance were Carm’s uncle, cousins, girlfriend and a few coworkers from O’Tooles.

Since Marc was back in Wantagh, Carm’s brother, Jeff, impersonated Marc. Two days later we were off to Long Island to commence the trip.
