Mike Petriello and SABR member Donna Muscarella will be guests of our next Rocky Mountain SABR Chapter virtual, scheduled for Monday, June 26, at 7 PM (MDT).
Petriello, a BBWAA member, writes for MLB.com after former gigs with FanGraphs and ESPN; he recently wrote about a new defensive metric to better evaluate catchers and stolen bases and will talk about it during the virtual. Mike follows the big league game closely, is a frequent guest on MLB Network, understands Baseball Savant, and has over 89,000 Twitter followers (@Mike_Petriello). He leans into defensive metrics, lives in NYC, and is a BU alum.
Muscarella, who hails from Paramus, NJ, is a leading expert on baseball-related postcards and the Negro Leagues and will discuss Hinchcliffe Stadium’s recent $94M renovation. Hinchcliffe, located in Patterson, NJ, opened in 1932 and was the home field for four Negro League teams, and the stadium’s renovation was completed last month.
