Ken Reed

Ken Reed is sports policy director for League of Fans.  He is a long-time sports management and marketing consultant and sports studies instructor.  He is the author of five sports-based books, including Ego vs. Soul in Sports: Essays on Sport at Its Best and Worst.

 

Reed has been a regular sports issues columnist for several sports magazines and a freelance contributor to multiple publications, including the New York Times and the Chicago Tribune.  He currently writes columns on sports issues for Troy Media.

 

Reed played baseball for four years at the University of Denver for legendary coach Jack Rose.  He also did committee work for the Colorado Baseball Commission.  In addition, along with Sam Suplizio, Reed led an effort to move the Arizona Rookie League to the Rocky Mountain region.  The league was to be called the Rocky Mountain Rookie League.  Ultimately, MLB general managers voted the proposed move down
